AirVM Growing in Saint John
SAINT JOHN– One Ottawa-based company is expanding their Saint John operations in the city’s uptown core.
Due to major growth in 2015, AirVM’s Saint John operation has outgrown their original office space on Canterbury Street and will be moving to nearby CenterBeam Place on King Street.
“It took us months to find the right space with the feel that we were looking for and the potential to meet our future growth needs,” said AirVM’s local Manager Jamie Pitt. “CenterBeam Place met all of our requirements and then some”
AirVM is a leading cloud management platform company. They opened their Saint John office in 2012.
In August of this year, AirVM announced it has closed $8.0 million in Series A funding. The money positions AirVM for growth to meet the demand for AirSembly, their business management platform for cloud service providers.
“AirVM has grown tremendously in 2015, and as we continue to add new partners, our recent Series A financing ensures ongoing innovation and growth to meet the demands of the cloud industry,” said Joshua Vautour, CEO and founder of AirVM. “We are planning to continue our rapid growth in 2016 and are actively recruiting in Saint John.”
Stephanie Turner of Partners Global Corporate Real Estate, the leasing agent for CenterBeam Place, said she’s pleased to welcome the new tenant into the historical space.
“Much of the upper floors were leased by one large tenant in the past. Their departure left a big hole to fill,” she said.
“Although it would be ideal to be signing up large tenants that can take a full 17,000 square foot floor, sub-dividing the floors into smaller suites has helped attract medium size knowledge industry tenants that love the heritage character of the building and like the idea that, at least in the short term, there’s room for them to grow there too.”
